Archery Tools
These are a collection of tools I have developed in order to make working on my
archery kit easier and more creative. I like my equipment to be distinctive and
smart so I have adopted and adapted various techniques from different branches of archery
to achieve this.
All of the devices shown here, or the plans to build them will soon be available for purchase
from my sister site Archery Tools.
Bowstring Jig
This is a jig I found on an Archery Forum and I have adapted to use off-the-shelf components
easily available in the UK. Compared with the commonly available jigs in the UK it will allow the
string to be held at a tension up to 250lb and left there for hours or days if required. It also has the
capacity to make very long strings if required.

Paper Tuning Frame
Paper tuning is a useful tool for getting the best flight characteristics from your arrows. Properly tuned arrows will group much better and the bow will be more efficient in delivering arrows where they are pointed. A good guide to paper tuning has been produced by Easton and can be found here. Photo to follow.
Cam Timing
This versatile device allows several measurements to be made on various bow types. For compound bows; cam timing, nock travel and force mapping can all be measured. For more traditional bow types it can be used to check draw weight against draw length and tiller. Photo to follow.
